Here's What SlotStars Looks Like

Here are a few screenshots I took from SlotStars Casino as I was checking it out for the first time.

Summary

SlotStars is a MGA licensed online casino offering almost 8,000 casino games, including slots, table games, live dealer games, crash games, specialty games, and jackpots. The site promotes a 100% first-deposit bonus to new players, but it comes with very high playthrough requirements. While the site has lots of positives, the negatives, such as high bonus wagering and site usability issues, make this casino a mediocre experience.

SlotStars Casino - Your Standard SkillOnNet Site

SlotStars is an online casino launched in 2023 and operating on the well-known SkillOnNet platform. New players who sign up can claim a welcome deposit bonus and enjoy a library of nearly 8,000 games, covering everything from slots and blackjack to jackpots and live dealer titles.

SlotStars isn't the first SkillOnNet casino I've tested and reviewed. It's actually very similar to other sites on the same platform, like QueenVegas and PlayToro. The name and theme are really the only things that change. If you've played at any SkillOnNet casino before, you'll already know what to expect, since pretty much everything from the site layout to the overall gameplay experience follows the same formula.

Signing up is quick and straightforward. Just fill out the registration form, verify your phone number and email, and you're good to go. You can then claim a deposit bonus that matches your first deposit up to C$100, plus 50 bonus spins on Thor: The Trials of Asgard.

Overall, I'm rating SlotStars as average at best. The bonus terms are pretty rough with a 60x wagering requirement, the platform feels dated compared to modern mobile-optimized sites, and the KYC process could be easier.

On the plus side, the casino holds licences from several reputable gambling regulators, offers solid responsible gaming tools, and has a huge number of games to play through.

First Deposit Bonus: 100% Up to C$100 + 50 Bonus Spins

When you join SlotStars as a new player, you can claim the following offer:

The promotion is a pretty standard deposit match, with the added bonus of spins on Thor: The Trials of Asgard by GVG. Each spin is worth 10 cents, so the total value of 50 spins comes to C$5.

While testing the bonus, I noticed that the info section for most games includes some interesting data. For example, during testing, I saw that the game had paid out as much as C$8,771 in a single win, and players on the site have given the slot a 4 out of 5 rating. Not bad in my opinion.

The game felt entertaining, with its epic soundtrack and Norse-style god characters, and I even managed to trigger the bonus round during the spins. That said, the wins were pretty modest, which is about what I expected anyway, just a couple of dollars at most.

How Do You Claim the Welcome Bonus?

To claim the first deposit bonus at SlotStars, you must first go to the casino using our links and successfully register a new account. After you've validated your email and phone number, you can access the cashier page. Then, do the following:

  1. Choose your preferred deposit method and deposit C$10 or more.
  2. Complete the deposit process.
  3. Go to your account and open 'Promotions'.
  4. If you're eligible for the bonus, it should be available for claiming.

If, for some reason, you don't see the bonus in the Promotions page or the bonus doesn't show in your balance after claiming it, contact casino support.

What to Know About the Bonus Terms

The welcome bonus is subject to a 30x wagering requirement, applied to both the deposit and the bonus. For example, if your deposit was C$10 and you got a C$10 bonus, the math is (10 + 10) x 30. In this case, you'd need to wager C$600.

So, instead of a simple 30x wagering requirement on the bonus alone, which would be slightly lower than the industry average of 35x, SlotStars requires you to wager both your deposit and the claimed bonus. The spin winnings must be wagered 60 times.

You have 30 days to complete the wagering before the bonus expires. The maximum bet during wagering is 10% (min. C$0.10) of the credited bonus amount, or C$5, whichever limit is lower. Only bets placed in slots and scratchers count towards the wagering requirement.

Is the SlotStars Bonus Worth It?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend getting this deal, as it's quite small compared to what you can get elsewhere, and the wagering requirements are way too high for a standard bonus package like this.

You can check what other casino bonuses for Canadians are available right now. I guarantee you'll find better offers with our toplist filters.

Compare the First Deposit Bonus

As I wrote above, I wouldn't bother with SlotStars' bonus, since there are so many bigger bonuses with better terms around. For example, Mr Vegas' promotion is 100%/C$200 + 11 bonus spins, which you can get with a C$10 minimum deposit and only requires wagering the bonus 35 times. The spins themselves are wager-free.

If you're looking for an even heftier bonus with easier terms, Stupid Casino is doubling your deposit up to C$300 and even offers 20 free spins without a deposit. And all this comes with no wagering requirements attached.

You can compare the deal yourself with our tool below.

The Game Suppliers List Reveals Stars and Hidden Gems

The easiest way to see all the game providers available at SlotStars is to open the search tool in the game lobby and check the list of providers. You can also use that list as a filter when you're looking for games from a specific studio.

The casino features a mix of big, well-known providers like Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Spinomenal, and Playtech, along with smaller, up-and-coming studios with fewer than 5 games in their portfolios. That makes SlotStars a great place to explore titles from lesser-known developers.

NetEnt Yggdrasil Play'n GO IGT Genesis 1x2 Gaming Quickspin
Evolution Gaming Playtech Pragmatic Play StakeLogic

SlotStars' massive game library would be a pain to go through without its solid search tool, which lets you filter games by provider, category, star rating, or bet size. It's pretty much a must-have feature here, since the lobby itself feels a bit randomly put together.

For online slots, games are grouped into categories like trending, popular picks, new releases, and bonus buy titles. If a game has a jackpot, the current top prize is shown right on the game tile, which is a nice touch.

Even so, my experience with the game selection wasn't much different from other SkillOnNet casinos. Browsing through the games can feel a bit frustrating, mainly because the organization could be clearer. Then again, some players might actually enjoy that randomness. You never really know when you'll come across a hidden gem or a slot that probably should've stayed buried.

Despite the messy layout, I have to admit that SlotStars offers a really strong selection of slots. Table games are limited to just a handful, which doesn't bother me personally, but some players might find that disappointing. I counted close to 50 crash games in the lineup, including popular titles like FlyX, Aviator, Maverick, and Big Bass Crash. In this category, the casino really stands out compared to most others, which usually offer fewer than 30 crash games.

But what I really like about SkillOnNet casinos like SlotStars is the Hot/Cold page, where you can check hot and cold game stats. At any time, you can see which games have paid out more than they've taken in over the past few hours, and which ones are "cold", meaning they've paid out less compared to what players have wagered. I've often used this opportunity to check whether my favourite games are listed in hot or cold, but, of course, in reality, this data matters very little for a single gameplay session.

Game Information

Game Type Number of Games Bojoko's Recommendations
All Games 7,800 Book of Books, Plinko+, Oink Oink Oink AstroSnouts
Slots 7,050 Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Ghost Father, Big Bamboo
Table Games 60 Caribbean Poker, Multifire Roulette, Dragon Tiger
Jackpot Games 550 Bill & Coin Dream Drop, Age of the Gods Gold Trio, Frost Queen Jackpots
Crash Games 50 Big Bass Crash, Crash Out Fireworks, Stormy Witch

The number of games is an approximation at the time of writing the review. The numbers may change as new providers are added and new games are introduced.

In the live casino section, you'll find around 300 games, but unfortunately, only a couple of dozen of them are live game shows. The rest are mostly traditional blackjack, roulette, or baccarat. I was honestly a bit surprised there weren't more game shows, especially since SlotStars works with multiple live game providers.

I don't have a whole lot to say about the live casino selection. It's fairly standard, but I'd definitely like to see more game shows and just more live casino action overall. As it stands, the offering feels a bit limited.

For comparison, Stupid Casino features over 1,100 live games, which is one of the largest selections I've come across. SlotStars doesn't need to go that far, but what this shows is that a much bigger lineup is possible.

Live Game Information

Game Type Number of Games Bojoko's Recommendations

Live Blackjack 160 Blackjack Berlin, Free Bet Blackjack, Blackjack FTV
Live Roulette 60 Gold Saloon Roulette, Roulette Rouge, Dynamite Roulette
Live Game Shows 30 Candy Wheel, Vegas Gobbler, Agent Spinity

SlotStars app on Google Play Store

SlotStars offers a downloadable version of its casino for mobile phones and tablets on both Google Play and the App Store. However, I couldn't find the app on the App Store during testing. The Google Play link worked fine, though, and I was able to download an app called Slot Stars Online Casino Games on my Android phone.

At the time of writing, the Android app has just over 300 reviews and a 3.6-star rating, which isn't particularly impressive. On the other hand, I noticed it was recently updated, so the casino does seem to keep it maintained and up to date.

Most of the written reviews highlighted in the app store focus on game payout concerns rather than technical performance. In my experience, the app worked without any major issues, but I still ended up uninstalling it since I didn't see much difference compared to playing through a browser.

SlotStars offers a pretty standard range of deposit methods, from bank cards to e-wallets. The minimum deposit is C$10 across all options. As far as I can tell, the welcome bonus can be claimed with any payment method, so it doesn't really matter which one you choose.

Depositing is super simple: After logging in, just click or tap on the 'Deposit' button at the top of the site. This leads you to the cashier, where you can select the desired method and enter the amount you want to fund your account with. Should you ever need to check the deposit history, it can be found under the 'Transaction History' tab, along with processed withdrawals and bonus history.

I was a bit surprised that the casino doesn't support cryptocurrencies at all, especially since many other international sites do, like 10bet Casino, Wolfy Casino, and King Billy. Then again, this might be a deliberate choice to avoid having to limit payment options too much across different regions.

Note that the minimum withdrawal limit is C$20, but at least the casino doesn't charge processing fees.

Payment Method Min Deposit Min Withdrawal Possible Fees
Mastercard C$10 C$20 -
Visa C$10 C$20 -
Payz C$10 C$20 -
MuchBetter C$10 C$20 -
PaysafeCard C$10 C$20 -
AstroPay C$10 -
Interac C$10 C$20 -
Wire Transfer C$20 -

The average withdrawal time at SlotStars is approximately 0-2 working days, though most payouts arrive to you on the same day. SlotStars uses a 'Fast Cashout' system that aims to process all withdrawals within mere hours.

The slowest options here are wire transfers and cards, which can take up to a week to complete a withdrawal. This means the eWallets are your best bet for fast payouts.

When you want to withdraw money from the casino, open the main site menu to access the cashier, or tap the big 'Deposit' button that takes you to the cashier as well. Under the 'Withdraw' tab, you can see all the payout methods available to you. The most you can withdraw per day is C$5,000.

Important info for Mastercard users: while SlotStars lists MC as a withdrawal method, it's not always possible to use this card for payouts due to bank restrictions.

  • Visa: 2-5 working days
  • Mastercard: 2-5 working days
  • MuchBetter: 0-1 working days
  • Payz: 0-1 working days
  • PaysafeCard: 0-1 working days
  • Interac: 0-1 working days
  • Wire transfer: 3-7 working days

SlotStars' customer support is available via email and live chat. In the chat, you'll be interacting with an AI bot. In my case, it was named Marcus. When I reached out, Marcus first checked my account details and then asked what I wanted help with.

My first impression wasn't great. I tried asking Marcus what hours real humans would be available on live chat, but even after repeating the question a couple of times, it didn't seem smart enough to understand what I was asking, even though I made sure the question was clearly worded. It didn't even give me the option to ask for a real agent; all I could do was either ask it again or check the FAQ.

So yeah, I wouldn't say I enjoyed testing the live chat. I've had my fair share of bad customer service, and even though my experience with SlotStars' support wasn't the worst, it's still very far from the times I could contact live chat and get answers to my questions within minutes.

You can still contact support via email, too (support@slotstars.com), but email support is usually quite slow.

Screenshot from SlotStars KYC document upload page

When you register at SlotStars, you fill out a form asking for your address, phone number, email, and date of birth. Make sure these are correct, because sooner or later you'll need to prove they're accurate.

SlotStars doesn't require KYC verification before your first deposit, but since the casino can request it at pretty much any time, it's a good idea to verify your account on day one. That way, withdrawals won't get held up waiting for ID checks.

The place to upload your KYC documents is under your user icon once you're logged in, then select the ‘Upload Documents' link.

Unfortunately, SlotStars makes this a bit annoying because it doesn't always allow players to upload documents freely. For example, when I tried to upload the documents, the page said that ID verification wasn't required at the moment.

So, if you want to proactively verify your account, you'll need to contact customer support.

Even though I can't praise SlotStars' customer service or the KYC process, at least they're offering excellent tools for responsible gambling.

By clicking your account icon and going to the 'Settings' tab, you can find the following options:

  • Set game status reminder
  • Set deposit limits
  • Freeze your account between 1 day and 1 month
  • Close your account permanently
