Summary

Launched in 2020, RocketPlay Casino is a gambling site where you can play casino games, place sports bets, and take part in a wide range of promotions and tournaments. Licensed in Curaçao, RocketPlay is generally suitable for both beginners and more experienced players. However, the overall experience doesn't really deliver much of a "wow" factor.

RocketPlay Casino - Big Talk, Average Delivery

RocketPlay Casino markets itself as a top-tier and leading online casino, so I went into the review with fairly high expectations.

At first glance, it's a fairly standard online casino with slots, live casino games, and sports betting. The site also features a VIP Club and something called Rocketmart, which turned out to be the casino's own reward shop where you can exchange AstroCoins for different bonuses.

RocketPlay promotes several ongoing offers on its website, including some bonuses that can be claimed weekly. New players get a bonus of up to $2,000 on their first deposit, along with 100 bonus spins, so the welcome package definitely looks generous.

The registration process was straightforward and free of surprises. The signup form is completed in two steps, after which the casino directs you straight to the cashier page. The game library includes more than 5,000 titles, which is a respectable amount for a standard online casino.

After testing RocketPlay's deposits, games, and withdrawals, I came away with the impression that it's a solid all-around casino. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a leading name in the industry, especially since this was my first time even coming across the brand, despite having 13 years of experience reviewing casinos, but I also didn't run into any major issues worth criticizing.

Does RocketPlay Casino really stand out from the crowd? Not particularly. It doesn't bring anything new or groundbreaking to the table, but it does offer solid gambling entertainment across the board.

Expert's Take on the Welcome Bonus

Casino expert Kati Saari has more than a decade of experience reviewing online casinos

The first deposit bonus is generous enough for both casual players and high rollers. The terms are also fairly reasonable considering the size of the offer, with a 40x wagering requirement, a $7.50 max bet limit, and 5 days to complete the wagering.

The maximum cashout from the bonus is capped at $5,000, which I'd say is pretty fair. Winnings from the bonus spins are also capped at $300. My biggest complaint is that you don't get all the spins at once. Instead, the casino gives you 20 spins per day over five consecutive days.

The reload bonus triples your deposit, which does make up a bit for the fact that you'll need to deposit at least $75 to claim it. It's worth noting, though, that the rest of the terms are identical to the welcome bonus, including the 40x wagering requirement and the $5,000 max cashout cap.

Both the welcome bonus and the reload offer still give players a realistic chance to come out ahead.
Kati Saari, 10+ Years' Experience

So while you do get more bonus money for your deposit, you're also committing to a much longer wagering grind. At the same time, the max cashout feels less generous relative to the size of the offer compared to the first deposit bonus.

Is this bonus package worth claiming? I'd say it definitely has potential. The wagering requirement is slightly above the industry average at 40x compared to the more common 35x, but aside from that, both the welcome bonus and the reload offer still give players a realistic chance to come out ahead.

Compare the First Deposit Bonus

RocketPlay Casino's welcome bonus is fairly large compared to other Canadian gambling sites bonuses, although it's still pretty standard overall. At the time of writing this review, you can find close to a dozen similar "double your deposit" offers on Bojoko's listings from casinos like LuckyWins Casino, Safe Casino, NitroBet, and Slotozen Casino.

For example, Wildz Casino doubles your first deposit up to $1,000 and adds 200 bonus spins on top. While the welcome offer is only half of what RocketPlay offers, the catch is that Wildz requires a $10 minimum deposit and a lower 35x wagering requirement. If you're not a high roller, this is a better deal.

So if you're not keen on putting down $30 just to unlock RocketPlay's offer, Wildz Casino might be the preferable option.

Game Suppliers

I found several of my personal favourites in RocketPlay Casino's list of game providers, including Pragmatic Play, Push Gaming, Hacksaw Gaming, and Yggdrasil. There are also plenty of smaller studios in the mix, but what really stood out was the absence of some major names. I did miss games from NoLimit City, NetEnt, and Play'n GO, which are usually staples in most casinos' game selections.

Yggdrasil Betsoft Quickspin Endorphina Playtech Playson Pragmatic Play
Playtech Pragmatic Play Lucky Streak Absolute Live Gaming Winfinity Iconic21

RocketPlay Casino offers around 5,500 games, placing it in the mid-range category among online casinos. The largest libraries I've seen go beyond 12,000 titles, although that usually requires having a wide mix of both major and older game studios.

If RocketPlay also included providers like NetEnt, Red Tiger, and Play'n GO, I'm confident the catalogue would grow closer to 7,000 games or more.

The game lobby follows a fairly standard layout. You can browse by provider, use category filters, or simply search for specific titles. Personally, I prefer casinos that offer more advanced filtering tools, such as sorting by stake limits or volatility. I also couldn't find a dedicated jackpot section, even though I did come across progressive jackpot slots from studios like Playtech and Yggdrasil through the search function.

At the time of review, the casino's featured "hot games" list includes titles like Elvis Frog in Vegas, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde 2, and Coin Strike: Hold and Win.

I wasn't even aware that Betsoft Gaming had released a sequel to its classic Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde slot, let alone one with a maximum win of over 10,000x. It's one of those games that easily keeps you entertained, and I ended up playing this one for a good while.

The number of games is an approximation at the time of writing the review. The numbers may change as new providers are added and new games are introduced.

RocketPlay houses approximately 200 live dealer games, fairly evenly split across blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker, and game show titles.

I didn't expect RocketPlay to have such a broad live casino selection, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many providers were included. Alongside Pragmatic Play, you'll also find studios like Imagine Live, Live Vegas, Playtech, Iconic21, Luckystreak, and several others. At most online casinos, you typically only see around 3 to 5 live game providers, so RocketPlay performs above average here.

A small technical drawback was that when I clicked the provider filter in the live casino lobby, it showed every single game provider the casino offers instead of narrowing it down to live studios only, which would have been a more useful view.

If you're new to live dealer games and want to give them a try but aren't really into blackjack or roulette, I'd highly recommend starting with live casino game shows. Some of my personal favourites include Pragmatic Play's Treasure Island Live and Sweet Bonanza Candyland.

Unfortunately, RocketPlay doesn't feature any live games from Evolution, which is a bit of a downside since those are also among my go-to picks.

RocketPlay Casino supports deposits via standard bank cards, fast e-wallets, and cryptocurrencies. Among the non-crypto options, Interac has the lowest minimum deposit at $10. With crypto, the minimum can drop to just a few cents when converted to Canadian dollars.

Depositing with Interac was smooth and straightforward. The first step is to choose the deposit amount, and the casino then shows how many tickets you'll receive in its ongoing lottery. A $50 deposit gets you one ticket, while larger deposits reward more tickets and lower the effective cost per entry.

The second step was to choose the deposit method, and the third step required my Interac Account ID. Naturally, if you choose to deposit using another method, you'll need to enter your card details, phone number, etc. at this stage.

After the final step, it took only a few seconds to complete the deposit, and I was ready to play.

Deposits and withdrawals at RocketPlay are free of charge, which is pretty standard across most Canadian online casinos.

Withdrawals at RocketPlay Casino are processed instantly, which means most payouts arrive within 24 hours. With e-wallets and crypto, cashouts can land in just a couple of hours.

Thankfully, the withdrawal process itself wasn't exactly rocket science either, even if the casino theme is what it is. First, you choose the amount you want to withdraw, then select your preferred payment method, and finally submit the withdrawal request to the casino.

When I requested an Interac withdrawal on a weekday, the money arrived in under an hour. I had already verified my account before making the request, though, so that likely helped speed things up.

RocketPlay has handled its customer support setup pretty smartly, in my view. The live chat window is always available and, right from the start, it gives you the option to connect directly with the support team, meaning you can skip the usual bot-first loop and go straight to a human agent.

The other options in the chat window route you either to an AI assistant or to the FAQ section for quick answers. The FAQ route, in particular, can be the fastest way to get help when your question is fairly general or straightforward.

It was also good to see that the live chat isn't limited only to registered players. Even when you're logged out and, for example, having trouble signing in, you can still open the support chat through the casino's menu.

The live chat is open 24/7. If you prefer sending them an email, you can address it to support@rocketplay.com.

At some casinos, you can't verify your account on your own. Instead, you have to wait until the casino asks you to upload documents. Personally, I'm not a fan of that system, since I believe players should be able to complete the KYC process whenever they choose.

The reason for this is simple. Some casinos may put withdrawals on hold until the account has been verified, and that can delay payouts by a couple of days, which nobody really wants. That's why I always prefer, and recommend, completing verification as soon as possible after registering.

Thankfully, RocketPlay Casino allows you to upload documents immediately. Just open your player profile and head to the Verification tab, where you can submit your ID, proof of address, and proof of payment method. The documents are reviewed right away, and you'll quickly see whether they've been approved or rejected.

RocketPlay Casino gives players a wide range of responsible gambling tools to help manage their play. You can set:

  • Loss limits
  • Wagering limits
  • Session time limits
  • Cooling-off periods

Oddly enough, two important tools are hidden behind an "Advanced Mode" button. Once enabled, you'll also gain access to deposit limits and self-exclusion settings. Personally, I can't really see a good reason for hiding these options other than quietly hoping fewer players will use them.

RocketPlay deserves credit for offering solid responsible gambling controls overall, but it also loses points for unnecessarily burying some of the most important features.

If you think that RocketPlay isn't quite up to your standards, may I suggest these alternatives:

  • Stupid Casino: Stupid Casino has far more live dealer games than RocketPlay, and as a cherry on top, there is no wagering on the welcome bonus.
  • SlotLounge: If you prefer to have even more slots to play than what RocketPlay has to offer, you need to check out SlotLounge and its selection, which holds more than 15,000 titles.
  • Goldex Casino: If you happen to be a high roller, Goldex Casino's got you covered as they offer some of the largest and heaviest casino bonuses we've seen.
  • Beazt Casino: A high-quality site from a popular operator, Rootz. The site offers a big game selection with good mobile usability, but also limited payment methods for CAD.
