PowerPlay Casino - A Straightforward Ontario Platform

When I first entered PowerPlay, what immediately stood out to me was that it felt very similar to other Ontario casinos I had tried before, especially BET99, with a strong focus on combining sports betting and casino games in one place. The sportsbook side looked more developed and better structured at first glance, while the casino section felt a bit more basic.

As I started exploring, I noticed that the platform is not overloaded with providers or features. Instead, it keeps things fairly simple, with around 10 well-known game providers such as Pragmatic, Games Global and Relax Gaming. That gave me the impression that PowerPlay focuses more on familiar, trusted content than on offering a wide variety

There is a mobile app for both iOS and Android, and support is available 24/7 through live chat, email, and phone. Withdrawals seemed quite fast, which made the whole experience feel more reliable.

Expert Insights - Simple, Solid, but Limited

From an expert point of view, PowerPlay is a fairly typical sportsbook-first casino in Ontario. It doesn't have big features or a massive game library, but it offers a stable experience with everything working well in the core.

I think these elements make it suitable for players who prefer simplicity over complexity, but it also means more experienced casino users may find the platform a bit limited.

Expert quote on Casino Rocket promo codes

PowerPlay focuses on convenience rather than advanced features, which is both its strenght and weakness.
Milla Gustafsson, Casino Expert at Bojoko

There's nothing wrong with being basic as long as things work, and they do at PowerPlay. The platform is easy to navigate, withdrawals are fast, and the casino experience is smooth. However, it kind of lacks that personality that would make it stand out from the rest.

Game Providers

The game providers you get at PowerPlay are Playtech, Play'n GO, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Relax, Games Global, Hacksaw, Inspired, Gaming Realms, and Wazdan. It may not sound like a lot, but let the quality speak for itself. These are some of the biggest names in the industry, known for many of the most popular slots, live casino games, and jackpot titles on the market. This means you'll find plenty of well-known games, reliable performance, and regular new releases.

When I opened the lobby at PowerPlay, I immediately noticed it had the same main focus on sports betting as I had recently experienced with BET99. The sports lobby is much better organized and offers a lot more features than the casino side.

I honestly found this lobby quite tiring to browse. You have endless lists of games, but barely any categories you could pick from. Of course, the number of games is not huge, so it's not as big as a casino like Mr Vegas could offer. Mr Vegas has amazing search features with nearly 100 subcategories to choose from, making it extremely easy to find whatever type of game you wish to play.

There's nothing wrong with the slot selection itself. You get options from classic slots to Megaways, and the New slot games are literally new and not something years old. I think the best way here is to know what you are looking for, though it's not the most beginner-friendly way of setting up the slot lobby.

If you're new to slots, I'd recommend starting in the lobby. It breaks up the huge game selection into a few categories and highlights some of the most popular titles, making it much easier to find a good place to begin.

The All Slots section features classics like Starburst and Gonzo's Quest near the top. These games are simple enough for beginners to get into quickly, but they've also remained favourites among experienced players for many years, which says a lot about their lasting appeal.

PowerPlay slots

You will find a nice selection of around 50 RNG table games here. The good thing is that, unlike the slots, the main table games, Roulette, Blackjack and Poker have their very own category buttons in the main menu. You can easily access these game types and find the available options. For me, as a fan of baccarat, I would have wanted to see a button for that one, too.

What I like here is that you have many classic options from Playtech, bringing their best to the table in poker, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and even craps. I have always enjoyed Playtech games because they have nice graphics, easy gameplay, and simple features. I even learned my best baccarat moves with these very same RNG games.

The only thing I wanted to see, again, was more categories and filters. It just makes a huge difference when you are offered more options without having to dig for them. I really like how sites like Casino Days and Party Casino have arranged their table games sections. They make it easy to narrow things down quickly, whether you're looking for stake size, game type, or provider. That kind of structure also helps you discover new games you might not have clicked on otherwise.

PowerPlay table games

The Live Casino lobby opens with Playtech's Live From Las Vegas collection. These are live tables and live game shows streamed directly from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, bringing a genuine brick-and-mortar casino atmosphere straight to your screen.

What makes this stand out is the setting itself. Instead of a standard studio environment, you're watching real casino action unfold on the floor of one of the most iconic gambling venues in the world. You can see the energy of a busy casino in the background, which adds a much more immersive feel compared to typical live dealer setups. It feels closer to actually being there than just watching a game on a camera feed.

Apart from Playtech, Pragmatic Live, and Evolution Gaming are also bringing in their best live games. In addition to the usual roulette, blackjack, and baccarat tables with their various versions, there are plenty of live game shows to explore.

There's definitely a good mix of games available here, and they are also better organised than the other game lobbies, with different game types having their own dedicated menus. Out of the entire casino offering at PowerPlay, the Live Casino section earned the highest score from me in both game quality and usability. It feels more structured, more intuitive to navigate, and overall delivers the most complete and polished experience on the site.

Customer Support - 24/7 with Phone Support Available

PowerPlay live chat

Customer support is available via live chat and email. The live chat is super easy to access and open around the clock, 7 days a week.

I tested the live chat and, within less than a minute, Connor came online. The response time was quick and felt almost immediate, which already gives a good first impression. It was nice that it wasn't a bot but an actual human, which I could spot right away because of some minor typos in his writing.

Once connected, the conversation went smoothly and felt straightforward, without long delays between messages. It's the kind of fast support you want when you're trying to resolve something quickly, without waiting around for replies or being left in a queue. I also found it easy to access via the button, which is very visible on the site, and you don't have to provide any account details to simply talk to an agent.

They also offer phone support, which is great to see. This makes the service feel more accessible, especially for players who prefer resolving issues over the phone rather than through live chat or email. Even better would be if the calls were toll-free, like at SIA Casino, where players can reach support without worrying about call charges.

Mobile App - Decent Performance with Room to Improve

The PowerPlay app is available for both iOS and Android devices. With just under 100 reviews on each platform, it currently holds an average rating of around 3.8.

While that's not a bad score in itself, the limited number of reviews makes it harder to judge how consistent the user experience really is over time. In comparison, casinos like Tooniebet and 888 Casino sit closer to a 4.5 rating based on thousands of reviews, which gives a much stronger indication of long-term performance and user satisfaction.

From my own experience using the iOS app, I would also score PowerPlay at around 3.8. It works fine for the most part, but there are a few rough edges in terms of navigation and overall polish that still need fixing.

But it wasn't all negative, as I found positive features in the app too. The app loads quickly, the main sections are easy to access, and the core functions, such as browsing games and switching between the sportsbook and casino, work without major issues. Once you get used to the layout, it becomes fairly straightforward to use on a daily basis.

Pros:

Fast loading times

Easy switching between casino and sportsbook

Stable gameplay experience

Available on iOS and Android

Cons:

Navigation can feel unintuitive at times

Some sections require too many taps

Overall design lacks polish compared to leading Ontario apps

Deposits and Withdrawals - Quick and Easy

Deposits and withdrawals at PowerPlay are fairly straightforward, with a solid range of standard payment methods available. What I appreciate is the clear information available even before you join the casino. You can see each method and open a guide bar that shows the deposit range and other important details.

The minimum deposit is C$10, which is quite accessible and makes it easy to get started without committing a large amount upfront. Some casinos, like Zodiac Casino and Casino Classic, even allow deposits as low as C$1. This sets a really low entry point for players who want to test the waters with minimal spend.

Overall, the banking setup at PowerPlay is simple and easy to understand, with all the essential information clearly laid out. If you want to learn more about the available methods, you can simply click on "Payment Options" in the footer menu at the bottom of the site, where all the details are neatly listed in one place.

Payment Method Deposit Range Withdrawal Range (24hrs) Processing Times
Visa C$10-C$5,000 Instant
Mastercard C$10-C$5,000 Instant
Interac C$10-C$3,000 C$10-C$3,000 Instant deposit / Withdrawals 0-4 hours
Paysafecard C$10-C$250 Instant

Withdrawal Times

The average withdrawal time at PowerPlay ranges from 1 to 12 hours.

Withdrawals at PowerPlay are generally processed quickly, with the site aiming to complete payouts in under 4 hours, and at most within 24 hours. Once approved, the funds are sent directly to your selected payment method, making the process fairly straightforward from a user perspective.

I used Interac to withdraw, and the process was smooth and fairly quick. Once my withdrawal was approved, the funds arrived within 2 hours, and the timing felt consistent with what the casino advertises. There were no unnecessary delays, and everything was handled cleanly from request to payout.

Below you can see the estimated withdrawal times per method:

KYC - How to Verify Your Account

KYC at PowerPlay is handled from the moment you register, with identity checks taking place early on. If anything further is required later, the casino will contact you directly via email and clearly explain what is needed.

The documents that may be requested typically include:

If additional verification is needed, PowerPlay will always specify exactly what they require.

It's also worth noting that if your account is not fully verified, PowerPlay may restrict certain features. This can include limits on deposits, withdrawals, or wagering until all required documents have been submitted and approved.

💡 Expert insight: PowerPlay's verification process is standard for Ontario-licensed casinos. While providing documents can feel inconvenient, completing verification early often prevents delays when it's time to withdraw. It's usually better to submit any requested documents as soon as possible rather than waiting until you want to cash out.

Licence and Safety

PowerPlay is an Ontario-licensed online casino, which means it operates under strict regulatory standards designed to ensure fair play, player protection, and responsible gambling practices. Being licensed in Ontario also means the operator must follow clear rules around transparency, security, and player fund protection, giving users a more controlled and regulated environment to play in.

A big part of this framework is Responsible Gaming, which PowerPlay takes seriously. They provide a range of tools and safeguards to help players stay in control of their activity or take a break when needed.

Compare PowerPlay With Other Ontario Casinos

To put PowerPlay into perspective, it's worth comparing it with some of Ontario's other leading casinos. While it offers a strong mix of sports betting and casino gaming, competitors may have advantages in areas such as game selection, support options and withdrawal times.
